Engr. Mohammed Abbas Yakubu

ACTING MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO

Until his appointment as the Acting Managing Director/CEO Abuja Markets Management Limited in February 2022, Engr. Mohammed Abbas Yakubu was an Assistant General Manager / Head-Subsidiaries Department with Abuja Investments Company Limited where he managed, coordinated and oversaw the Subsidiary Companies of AICL as well as the Company’s Redevelopment projects.

Engr. Yakubu holds an MSc. Facilities Management, University of Greenwich, London, UK: 2009, MSc. Structural Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria: 1998 B.Eng. Civil Engineering, Upper Second Class Honours, Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria: 1989 and International Baccalaureate Diploma, Lester B. Pearson United world College of the Pacific, Victoria, BC, Canada: 1983

He is a registered Civil Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)– R9696 (2003); Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)– Ref.: 11815 (2001), Certified Facilities Manager at the British Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (CIWFM)-0109899 (04/08/2015)

Engr. Yakubu is also a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria – ICA-PP/07-905 (2007), Member, International Facility Management Association (IFMA)2003, Fellow, Chartered Project Management Institute (2015): ref. HFA No. 15103

He has received several awards for outstanding performances including Study Fellowship Award by Bayero University Kano, Nigeria to study MSc in Structural Engineering at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria: 1991, University Scholarship Awards for best student in Civil Engineering for 1986/87 and 1988/89 at the Bayero University Kano, Nigeria.

Others are: United World Colleges Scholarship Award to attend the Lester B Pearson United World College of the Pacific, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada: 1981-1983 which also earned him a Community Service Award for contributing time and energy to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Victoria, BC, Canada in 1983.

He has presented a number of world class academic papers among which is ‘Implementation of Facilities Management Concept in Public Buildings in Nigeria’, being his Masters’ Degree Research project at the University of Greenwich, London, 2009.

Engr. Yakubu has in various capacities contributed to growth of Facility Management profession in Nigeria, such as: assisting in re-organising FM implementation at NCC, Abuja, 2017;Successful set up of Facilities Management practice at the AICL Estate Apo-Dutse and AICL Office Suites and  Abuja Enterprises Agency, Abuja, Nigeria as well as  Federal Capital Development Authority Secretariat, Abuja, Nigeria.

He also chaired the committee that drafted the first ever public institution FM Policy at the National Hospital Abuja and the first Health and Safety policy for the Maintenance Directorate of the National Hospital Abuja.

He was a member, Ministerial Committee on comprehensive Audit of all Buildings under construction in the Federal capital City, Abuja, August 2010.

Onya Nsor Ojiji

Company Secretary

Mr. Onya Nsor Ojiji obtained a bachelor of law degree from the University of Jos, Plateau State in 1999, attended the Nigerian Law School (Abuja) in 2000 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in January 2001.

Mr. Ojiji is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Abuja Chapter), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom (CIArb), and Member of the Capital Markets Solicitors Association of Nigeria. He is also a Chartered Secretary as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators [ICSAN].

His working experience spans over 20years. Mr. Ojiji joined the services of Abuja Markets Management Limited in May, 2006 after practicing for 5years with Ndoma-Egba, Ebri& Co. [SAN] a reputable law firm in Calabar, Cross River State.

He is happily married with 2 children.

Innocent Amaechina

Head, Corporate Affairs and Business Development

Mr. Innocent Amaechina has   over 2 decades of Marketing Communication and Business Development experience.

He holds an MBA (Ladoke Akintola University), PGD Journalism (International Institute of Journalism) B.A Philosophy( University of Nigeria), Diploma in Advertising and  Diploma in Public Relations. (APCON and NIPR, respectively), with M.Sc (Mass Communication) NSUK, in view.

He is a member of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations,(NIPR) and Member, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria,(APCON). He is also a certified Facility Management Professional (FMP) by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the highest recognized body for the certification of Facility Managers world over, based in Huston- USA.

Mr. Amaechina has attended various Professional trainings on Marketing Communication and Business; as well as Facility Management at various institutions including the Lagos Business School, School of Media and Communication, Pan African University, Meirc Training and Consulting, Dubai, UAE as well as International Facility Management Association-organized trainings – where he has continued to interface with other professionals  in the Business , Facility Management and Marketing Communication industry.

Faruk Baffa

Head, Finance and Account

Mr. Faruk Baffa holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting and a
Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bayero University Kano
respectively.
Mr. Faruk is a fellow of the prestigious Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an associate member of Chartered Institute of
Taxation (CITN), associate member of Institute of Cost and Management
Accountants of Nigeria (ICMN) and an associate member of Nigerian Institute of
Management (NIM). He is also a Certified Professional Trainer.
He started his career with Standard Construction Ltd in January 2000 as Account
Officer and he was moved to several zonal offices and project sites around
Nigeria where he served the role of Finance and Admin Officer and Project
Accountant respectively. He also served as Internal Audit officer. In 2007 he
moved to Nigerian Flour Mills Plc as Accountant where he served for 2 years
before proceeding to Damas Oil and Marine Ltd in Port-Harcourt as Senior
Accountant. Faruk gained employment with Centre for Management
Development (CMD), Lagos in 2010 as Principal Auditor and exited as Chief
Budget officer in 2013 to assume the role of Head, Finance & Account in Abuja
Markets Management Ltd to date.
His numerous roles in Construction, Oil & Marine, FMCG, and Public Service
Sectors of our economy has empowered him with skills that enables him
introduce some turn-around changes and better leadership input and target
delivery in his previous and current engagements.
Mr. Faruk is well trained and travelled.
